Guarantees & legal information
We'd rather be clear up front than over-promise. This page sets out exactly what our guarantees cover, what they depend on, what they exclude, and where you should take your own independent advice.
Guarantees, terms & important legal information
We'd rather be clear up front than over-promise. Here's exactly what our guarantees cover, what they depend on, and where you should take your own advice.
What our guarantee is — and what it depends on
Where the method and the site qualify, we provide a written guarantee covering regrowth in the area we have treated or excavated, with insurance-backed cover of up to 10 years available on request. It is not automatic and it is not offered on every job. The exact term, cover and exclusions are confirmed after the survey and are set out in your quotation and guarantee documentation — those documents are what apply, not this page.
We do not claim guaranteed or total eradication in every circumstance. Bamboo behaviour varies by species, soil, access and how far the rhizomes have already travelled, so we tell you honestly at survey stage what is achievable on your site.
Typical eligibility conditions
- A site survey has been carried out and we have identified the species and the extent of the rhizome spread.
- The agreed method (excavation, treatment programme, or a combination) is suitable for the site and is completed in full.
- We have safe, practical access to the whole affected area — including any part of the spread on adjoining land, where permission has been given.
- Any aftercare set out in your quotation is followed, and agreed monitoring visits are allowed to go ahead.
- Invoices for the works are settled in line with the agreed terms.
What a guarantee does not cover
- New growth from a fresh source outside the treated area — for example continuing spread from a neighbouring garden that has not been dealt with.
- Areas we were unable to access, excluded in writing from the works, or excavated or disturbed by others afterwards.
- Making good beyond disposal and backfilling. We do not reinstate lawns, planting, fencing, paving or other landscaping.
- Any consequential loss, such as property value, legal costs or a lender's or insurer's decision.
Legal, lending and insurance position
Bamboo is not a listed species under Schedule 9 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 or the Invasive Alien Species (Enforcement and Permitting) Order 2019. Where it crosses a boundary this is normally a civil matter between neighbours, decided on the facts of the individual case. Any timescales, costs or outcomes mentioned on this site are general illustrations, not a prediction of what would happen in your case.
Mortgage lenders, surveyors and insurers set their own requirements and those requirements vary. A guarantee or management plan from us can support a transaction, but we cannot promise that a particular lender, insurer or surveyor will accept it — that decision is always theirs.
Information on this website is general guidance about England and Wales and may not reflect the latest position. It is not legal, financial, structural or horticultural advice. For your own circumstances please take independent professional advice — a qualified solicitor for boundary or nuisance questions, a chartered surveyor for property questions, and your lender or insurer for their own requirements.
Full contractual terms are in our Terms of Service, and we're happy to send a specimen guarantee document before you commit — just ask.
